The 9 Days Casablanca to Tangier & Sahara Desert trip begins with a pick-up from either the airport or your accommodation in Casablanca, the economic hub and largest city of Morocco. Our first stop will be the iconic Hassan II Mosque, the largest mosque in the country, beautifully situated on a promontory overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. After some free time for lunch, we will continue our 9 Days Morocco itinerary, visiting the scenic Corniche, stopping by the famous Rick’s Café, and exploring Mohamed V Square.
The second day of our Casablanca Sahara desert itinerary begin with a drive along the scenic coastline to Rabat, one of Morocco’s imperial cities and the current capital. In Rabat, you will visit the stunning Hassan Tower, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, and the historic Kasbah of Oudaya. After some free time for lunch, we will continue our Morocco desert luxury tour north, passing through Ouazzane and the Rif Mountains, until we reach the beautiful blue city of Chefchaouen. Known for its charming buildings and narrow alleys painted in shades of white and blue, Chefchaouen is a sight to behold.
After breakfast On the morning of the third day of our Private Marrakech desert trip, enjoy some free time to explore the picturesque alleyways of Chefchaouen, the blue city. Then, we’ll drive to the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its excellent preservation. The site is home to stunning mosaics, along with ancient pillars and archways scattered throughout.
After exploring the ruins, we’ll take a short 30 km drive to the city of Meknes, known as the Ismaili capital and one of Morocco’s imperial cities. Here, we’ll visit landmarks such as Bab Al-Mansour, the Sahrij Souani basin, the Royal Stables, the Granary, and the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail. Afterward, we’ll continue our journey to Fes.
Today we will explore the highlights of Fes with a local guide. As one of Morocco’s imperial cities, Fes is also the cultural and religious heart of the country.
Your day begins with a visit to the Royal Palace gate, followed by a drive through the Jewish quarter, also known as the Mellah. We will then continue to an ancient fortress that offers panoramic views of both the Medina and the city of Fes.
Next, we will enter the well-preserved medieval Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will visit the iconic Blue Gate, or Bab Boujloud, the main entrance to the old Medina. Accompanied by your guide, you will take a walking tour through the Medina, stopping at the Medrasa Bouanania, the Najjarine Fountain, and the Tanneries. The Morocco Sahara desert itinerary will culminate at the Al Quaraouiyine Mosque and University, the oldest university in the world.
In the afternoon, you will meet your driver and return to your riad, with the rest of the day free to relax and explore at your own pace.
On the Fifth day of our 9 Days Morocco itinerary we will drive south through Imouzzer to the charming city of Ifrane, renowned for its cool climate, snow, and alpine-style architecture, earning it the nickname “Switzerland of Morocco.” Our journey then continues to the Cedar Forest, home to the Barbary macaques, also known as Barbary apes. Feel free to feed them as you stroll through the forest.
Next, we head to Midelt, where you will have free time for lunch. Afterward, we drive toward Merzouga, passing through the Tizi-n-Tilghmt pass and the stunning Ziz Valley, with stops along the way to enjoy breathtaking panoramic views.
In the afternoon, we reach the Sahara Desert of Merzouga. Here, you will switch to camels and ride across the vast sand dunes, making a stop atop a high dune to witness the spectacular sunset. We then continue to the desert camp, which blends traditional nomadic tents with luxurious hotel amenities. In the evening, you can enjoy Berber drum music and dance around the campfire under the starry desert sky.
Today we depart from the desert to visit Rissani, the ancient capital of Tafilalet. Rissani remains a bustling trading hub, with its souk particularly lively on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays.
After exploring the Rissani Souk, we head to Erfoud, where we’ll visit a workshop specializing in fossilized marble. Next, we drive through the palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad, making our way to the stunning Todra Gorges. The Todra River has carved these impressive canyons through the mountains, making the gorges a popular destination for rock climbers. Take some time to wander through the gorges and admire the breathtaking landscape. You’ll have free time for lunch in a local restaurant.
Afterward, we continue our Morocco desert luxury tour to the Dades Valley, passing through Boumalne Dades. We’ll make essential stops to view the “Monkey Fingers” rock formation and enjoy panoramic views from a mountaintop overlooking the Dades Valley.

We will make stops along the way for lunch and photo opportunities at scenic spots.
On the eighth day of your Morocco Sahara desert itinerary you will explore the highlights of Marrakech, the Red City, with a local guide. As one of Morocco’s four imperial cities, Marrakesh is rich in history and culture. Your visit includes the Bahia Palace, the Saadian Tombs, and the Ben Youssef Quranic School. You will also take a stroll through the largest traditional souk/market in Morocco. Enjoy some free time for lunch near the famous Jemaa El-Fna square.
In the afternoon, you’ll visit the Koutoubia Mosque, the largest in Marrakesh, followed by a visit to the beautiful Majorelle Garden. Finally, you will be transferred back to your accommodation. Feel free to spend some time exploring Jemaa El-Fna on your own.
