Itinerary:

Day 1: Red city – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Zagora

We begin the 2 Days From Marrakech to Zagora with an early morning pick up from your accommodation or the airport in Marrakech. From there, we drive through the Tizi N-tichka pass and pass through several Berber villages. Along the way, we will make multiple stops to take in the stunning panoramic views. Our first destination is the Ait Ben Hadou Kasbah, where we’ll enjoy a brief visit to this beautiful UNESCO World Heritage site. The Kasbah has served as the backdrop for many Hollywood films, including Gladiator and Lawrence of Arabia, as well as TV shows like Game of Thrones.

After lunch, either at Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah or further in Ouarzazate, we continue our journey through the Anti-Atlas Mountains, passing Berber villages and following the Draa Valley. The Draa Valley is known for being the largest palm grove and the longest river in Morocco. In the afternoon, we reach Zagora, where your Luxury Sahara desert trip begins. First, we go on a camel trek through the desert. Enjoy the breathtaking sunset before heading to your Sahara desert camp, where you’ll savor a traditional Moroccan dinner and enjoy drum performances beneath the starry open sky.

Day 2: Zagora - Marrakech

After an early wake-up for a camel ride across the dunes to witness the amazing sunrise, followed by a hearty Moroccan breakfast, we depart for Ouarzazate, known as “The Gate of the Desert.” There, we visit the Taourirt Kasbah and explore the studios where renowned films were made. Do I need a visa to travel to Morocco?

It depends on your nationality. Many countries, including the USA, UK, EU nations, and some others, can enter Morocco visa-free for up to 90 days. However, travelers from certain countries need to obtain a visa in advance. It’s best to check with the Moroccan embassy or consulate for specific requirements.

What are the must-visit places in Morocco?

Morocco offers diverse attractions, including Marrakech’s bustling souks, the blue city of Chefchaouen, the Sahara Desert for camel treks, the historic medina of Fes, the coastal city of Essaouira, and the Atlas Mountains for stunning landscapes and hikes.

Is Morocco safe for tourists?

Yes, Morocco is generally safe for tourists, but like any travel destination, it’s important to take precautions. Petty crimes like pickpocketing can occur in crowded areas, so keeping an eye on your belongings is advised. Respecting local customs and being aware of cultural differences can also enhance your experience.

What should I wear when visiting Morocco?

Morocco is a conservative country, so it’s recommended to dress modestly, especially in rural areas and religious sites. Women often wear loose-fitting clothes that cover their shoulders and knees, while men usually wear casual yet respectful clothing. In tourist areas, dress codes are more relaxed, but comfortable and breathable clothing is ideal due to the climate.
